“Ninth Season of HBL PSL Kicks Off with Exciting Lahore vs. Islamabad Clash at Gaddafi Stadium”
Lahore, 17 February 2024: The ninth season of the HBL PSL is starting today. Lahore Qalandars, who won twice in 2022 and 2023, will play against Islamabad United, also two-time champions in 2016 and 2018, in the first match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The first ball of the opening match is set to be bowled at 8 pm PKT. For the double-header, the afternoon match starts at 2 pm, and the evening match begins at 7 pm. During Ramadan, matches will kick off at 9 pm.
Lahore will host the first opening ceremony of the HBL PSL
The PCB’s headquarters, Gaddafi Stadium, will host its first opening ceremony of the HBL PSL. The ceremony starts at 6.30 pm and will feature thrilling performances by well-known artists like Arif Lohar, Natasha Baig, the pop band Noori, and the HBL PSL 9 anthem song singers, Ali Zafar and Aima Baig. Fans can also enjoy spectacular fireworks and a dazzling laser show.
In HBL PSL 9, four cities—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi—will host 34 matches. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host nine matches, including five home matches for Lahore Qalandars. Multan Cricket Stadium will host five matches, all featuring Multan Sultans. Lahore and Multan will host the first leg of the league from February 17 to 27, before the action shifts to Karachi and Rawalpindi.
Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium will host nine matches from March 2 to 10, with Islamabad United playing in five. Peshawar Zalmi will have four of their 10 matches in Rawalpindi, and Quetta Gladiators will play three at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Karachi’s National Bank Stadium will host 11 matches, including the grand finale on March 18. The home team, Karachi Kings, will play at least five matches at the venue, and Quetta Gladiators will have the opportunity to play at least three matches at the National Bank Stadium.
