Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to be the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer for the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy on December 17. The ceremony, marking the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for Flight Cadets from various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF), will include the conferment of the ‘President’s Commission’ on graduating trainees.

During the event, the Reviewing Officer (RO) will present ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ to Flight Cadets, officers from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and counterparts from friendly foreign nations. The award of ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ is a significant achievement in the career of military aviators, symbolizing the culmination of rigorous training.

The Flight Cadet achieving the top position in the order-of-merit in the flying branch will receive the Chief of the Air Staff’s ‘Sword of Honour’ and the ‘President’s Plaque,’ along with the privilege of commanding the parade. The RO will also present the President’s Plaque to the trainee securing the first position in the overall order-of-merit among the ground duty branches.

The CGP will feature a flypast and aerobatic display, including performances by the Pilatus PC-7 training aircraft, the Su-30, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, and a synchronized aerobatic display by the Sarang helicopter display team. The event is expected to showcase the skills and accomplishments of the graduating officers.
