On Tuesday in Turin, star English midfielder Jude Bellingham achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Real Madrid player to win the ‘Golden Boy Award.’ This award recognizes the best footballer under 21 years of age in a European club. The 20-year-old secured his place among 25 finalists, including his teammate Arda Guler. After winning, Bellingham expressed his aspirations of achieving big goals in life and accumulating as many trophies as possible. Despite the considerable pressure associated with representing both Real Madrid and the England National Team, he conveyed his happiness in being part of these esteemed teams. The accomplished midfielder dedicated the trophy to his country and the Spanish club.
“I must set ambitious goals, aiming to win as much as I can. I find joy in playing for my country, England, and with Real Madrid. Despite the immense pressure, I am thrilled to represent both of these teams. I am committed to giving my best to secure trophies for both my country and Real Madrid,” remarked Bellingham, as quoted by Real Madrid’s official website, following his trophy win.
Previously, Bellingham clinched the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or gala, reaffirming his status as the top player among footballers under 21.
In his debut season for Real Madrid, the 20-year-old has had an impressive start, already scoring 15 goals.
In the UEFA Champions League (UCL) against Napoli, the Englishman netted his most recent goal for Los Blancos, contributing to Real Madrid’s 4-2 victory in that match.
At present, Los Blancos are in peak form in La Liga, holding the top position in the league standings with 38 points from winning 12 out of their 15 games.
In their next match on Saturday, Bellingham’s team will face Real Betis at Benito Villamarin Stadium.
