Barcelona, along with FC Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk in their group, has already made it to the next round. So, Xavi thought about giving some players like Lewandowski, Gundogan, and Ronald Araújo a break. However, these players ended up going to Belgium.

RAC1 reported that Joan Laporta asked Xavi to include these players in the team. During a press conference, the coach admitted the changes to the selected players and clarified, “The switch happened because of the travel plan. Many players wanted to travel. This ensures that we’re all together and can collaborate. The president, Deco, and I are all on the same page.”
