Newcastle struggling ahead of the Milan match

If Milan is not doing well before the Champions League match, Newcastle United is in a similar situation. They suffered a 4-1 loss to Tottenham and are facing a significant injury crisis.

To stay in the tournament and make it to the Round of 16, Rossoneri has to win at St. James’ Park on Wednesday. They also need Paris Saint-Germain to lose against Borussia Dortmund.

If the other game doesn’t go well for them, winning would still get third place. This means they could compete in the Europa League play-offs in February.

Many Milan fans are aware that several players, like Simon Kjaer, Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu, Mattia Caldara, Noah Okafor, and Marco Sportiello, are unable to play due to injuries.

This means that they only have one center-back, Fikayo Tomori, who is available to play.

Newcastle is facing a similar problem and seems likely to enter the game without key players like Callum Wilson, Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, Matt Targett, Elliott Anderson, Sven Botman, and goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Out of all those players, losing Nick Pope could be the most significant setback. This is because Martin Dubravka seemed unsure, especially during the Richarlison goal, in the match against Tottenham.

This was their second back-to-back loss, following a 3-0 defeat to Everton.
