“I feel proud to be chosen as a brand ambassador by Punjab IG,” says Shadab Khan.

Shadab Khan, a player in the Pakistan cricket team who can both bat and bowl, has now become a part of the Punjab Police, it was revealed on Wednesday.

The Punjab Police, in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), announced that Shadab has joined their ranks. Dr. Usman Anwar, the top police official in the province, awarded him the honorary position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The statement noted that Shadab has been chosen as the brand ambassador for the provincial police. It also mentioned that after his appointment, he received information about the operations of various departments.

In reaction to the news, Shadab expressed his enthusiasm about joining the provincial police force.

“I feel honored to be chosen as a brand ambassador by Punjab IG. I’m really happy to be a part of Punjab Police,” he added.

Shadab has been given a break due to an injury. Chief Selector Wahab Riaz revealed in a press conference the day before that Shadab will not be part of the T20I squad for the New Zealand series.

“Shadab Khan is a crucial player for Pakistan T20 cricket. Sadly, he got an ankle injury during the National T20 and needs two more weeks of rehabilitation. After that, he’ll be back and ready to bowl.”

It’s worth noting that pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi have also received honorary police titles.
