As the countdown to Impact Wrestling’s rebranding to TNA on January 14 intensifies, the promotion is gearing up for a return to the action figure market after a hiatus of several years. In a recent press release on Monday morning, TNA/Impact announced a strategic partnership with PowerTown Wrestling to produce collectible TNA Action Figures and Accessories.
This collaboration with PowerTown Wrestling signifies a significant move for TNA/Impact, marking their reentry into the action figure market. Two series of TNA action figures are slated to be released in 2024, with Series One set to ship starting in August 2024, followed by Series Two in December. Pre-orders for Series One figures are expected to commence this March.
The decision to partner with PowerTown Wrestling comes after TNA/Impact sought a new manufacturer, parting ways with their previous partner in August. PowerTown Wrestling has gained recognition for its releases of action figures and collectibles featuring wrestling legends such as Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Kerry Von Erich, Magnum T.A., and Lou Thesz.
This move aligns with Impact’s comprehensive approach to the TNA transition, culminating in the Hard to Kill event at the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada. The event boasts an exciting lineup, featuring matches like Trinity defending the Knockouts Championship against Jordynne Grace, Alex Shelley putting the TNA Heavyweight Title on the line against Moose, and Chris Sabin defending the X-Division Title against KUSHIDA and AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
While additional matches are yet to be officially announced, wrestling enthusiasts can anticipate the presence of New Japan/AEW star Will Ospreay and New Japan’s Kazuchika Okada, who are set to participate in TNA’s “Snake Eyes” tapings following the Hard to Kill event.
As TNA makes strides towards its rebranding, the collaboration with PowerTown Wrestling signals a promising return to the world of action figures, offering fans collectibles that celebrate the rich history and future of the iconic wrestling brand.
