Lionel Messi did well for Inter Miami in the latest Major League Soccer (MLS) season. However, it looks like the club won’t be able to use Messi in the next season starting in February.

Messi won’t be playing in at least seven MLS matches because he has to play for Argentina in 2024.

Messi plans to help Argentina win the Copa America this summer in June and July. He wants to add another big title to their achievements after their World Cup victory in 2022.

As a result, Messi won’t be playing in at least five Miami MLS games from June 15 to July 6 because of the tournament. These games include matches against Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew, Nashville SC, Charlotte FC, and FC Cincinnati, according to mirror.co.uk.

Messi, with Argentina, will play three group matches against Chile, Peru, and a team that hasn’t qualified yet in the Copa America. The Copa America final is on July 14, just three days before Miami has a game against Toronto at the DRV PNK Stadium in the MLS.

There’s a chance Messi might miss two Miami games in March due to a FIFA international break. The exact matches that Argentina will play during this time haven’t been confirmed yet.

If Argentina takes part in these friendlies in March, Messi won’t be available for two Miami MLS matches against DC United on March 16 and New York Red Bulls on March 23.
