Pakistan will have a different team when they play against Australia in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7.

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the team for the upcoming match, and they made two significant changes by removing fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and batsman Imam-ul-Haq from the squad.

Saima Ayub, a new opener, is set to make his Test debut. He has participated in only eight Twenty20 matches for Pakistan and will be stepping in for Imam in the team.

The team will include captain Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafiq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, Abrar Ahmed, Aamir Jamal, and Mir Hamza.

Spinners Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed are part of the squad. Ahmed, a 25-year-old leg-break googly bowler, has been declared fit for the Sydney Test. He last played in the Test against Sri Lanka in July 2023.
